Congrats on your story, Heath Houston! I must have missed it in my feed somehow, so I’ll have to go back and find it so I can read it.

I’m with you here, too, Heath, and I’m feeling very appreciative of Medium. They are the first anything that has offered to pay me for poetry and that really means a lot to me. I had assumed I would not get invited to join the partner program since I pretty much only post poetry, so getting the invite was a pleasant surprise. I had the same attitude as you, as well, expecting a big $0.00 to show up on my statement and I was surprised once again to see that it was more than that — and for only one poem so far. After writing/editing poetry almost daily for many years for free, that was a huge deal to me.

In addition, I’m excited that the $5 per month I pay for the membership is helping to support the writers I admire.

You’re absolutely correct in saying that Medium got this right — they certainly did.
