Mars moves in slow-motion
In retrograde
Outside my window,
Burning bright and red.
The car radio creates the soundtrack
To my latest anxiety attack —
Sometimes we use the word “historically”
To talk about events in the recent past.
Historically, I like to think about things like that…
The alignment of words,
The alignment of planets,
The alignment of meaningless things
In the most chaotic of times and places.
