Lately I’ve been listening to music with no words,
because lately I have no words.
I don’t want to be reminded of better times,
or harder times or stranger times,
I just want to be true to this moment.
Nostalgia has no home here.
Lately I’ve been listening to music with no words
to help me to be content
with not having words for every little thing —
Words of comfort, words of calming,
sometimes those get lost out there.
Lately I’ve been listening to music with no words
and hopefully that will make my home a peaceful one
that words will someday wish to return to.
