New Moon in Aries

I have the things I need for now,
and some things that bring me joy,
gloves, a scarf, and macramé,
paper, a pen, and silly games.

Yes, I will stay sheltered in place,
but I’m not alone today.

Yesterday, the snow fell and
the world was quieter for it —

what a night for a new moon in Aries,
what a night for a break in brightness.
