Looking down the road, her mind filled in the unknowns with dark clouds and bolts of lightning.
“It doesn’t have to be that way,” he said, painting a picture of sunny skies and cloudy skies and nights that turn into mornings.
That was the most sacred gift he could give her, she knew, as they continued to walk down the long road together.
