Stars

Into the galaxy, we toss our stars,
The biggest and brightest catching the eye,
And as I watch them float in the endless sea,
I wonder —
Will their shimmer ever die?

On the Earth, we watch and wait,
Our destinies all part of an ongoing show,
And as I applaud all the stars in their dance,
I wonder —
To where will my little star go?

When yours became a shooting star,
Mine refused to shine,
And as I marvel at yours burning bright,
I wonder —
Will you ever marvel at mine?
