Writing from the heart is a risk —

What will they think of my writing?
Of me?
Do they read my poems as
my autobiography?

Will they get every allusion,
understand every subtlety?
Will they know that writing is work
and not just a silly pastime?

Do they know that they urge to write
sometimes feels like it hurts,
sometimes feels like a curse?
Or, that at times it warms the body
like a glass of red wine?

Writing from the heart is a risk —
a risk I must take.

about me.
